Lap Joint Flanges are designed to be used with a stub end. The flange is not welded directly to the pipe but rather slides over it and is held in place by the pressure of bolting.

Ideal for systems requiring frequent dismantling
Easy to align bolt holes
Low initial cost (flange), higher cost (stub end)

Applications

Used in systems with rotating flanges or corrosion-sensitive materials (lined or clad piping)
